Intern Testimonials

Sabrina Williams - Spring 2023Interning at the Medical Society of Northern Virginia gave me exposure to political advocacy, and the significance of tracking the bills that are in session that affect physicians and patients. I also learned the importance of marketing and how it helps engage MSNVA’s members.
Sabrina Sharifi - Fall 2022My internship experience with MSNVA gave me a comprehensive exposure to political advocacy in a non-profit organization. I learned about the legislative process in Virginia's General Assembly and relevant bills that affect both physicians and patients. Meeting with legislators to discuss issues pertaining to the practice of medicine was eye-opening to the need for changes to improve healthcare in Northern VA.
Ash Pandey"Over the summer, I have had a wonderful learning experience at the MSNVA. As an Advocacy Outreach Intern, I learned the ins and outs of reaching out to the legislators in order to set up meetings to advocate for the physician community that we represent. I enjoyed performing the research part of my project which assisted me in figuring out different Bills and Policies supported by the legislators. Attending different webinars and keeping up with supplemental articles on pertinent topics helped me get a better understanding of the current healthcare field. I am certain that this experience has shaped me into a more capable individual to better serve the healthcare community."
