MSNVA’s History

Twelve country doctors traveled by horse and buggy to Fairfax County Courthouse on May 1st, 1884 to re-organize the Fairfax County Medical Society.

The Medical Society of Northern Virginia was established with the merger of the Fairfax County Medical Society and the Alexandria Medical Society in 2002. Later on in 2012, the Loudoun County Medical Society joined MSNVA. Our long-standing history is a testament to the strength and determination of community physicians around the area. MSNVA has and will continue to fight and advocate for independent community physicians in the Northern Virginia area.
